Using Notifications
Learn how Notifications help your team stay informed, avoid missed opportunities and quickly review internal updates across the CRM.
Thought Process
Things get missed — we are all human. Notifications have been designed to help prevent missed opportunities by making important information easy to see, easy to review and easy to action.
Why Notifications matter
- Important updates can be seen quickly.
- Status can be changed to complete when action has been taken.
- Notifications can be deleted from the list when no longer needed.
- The feature helps teams stay on top of internal information.
Tasks vs Notifications
A simple way to think about it is:
- Tasks relate more to company accounts and customer activity.
- Notifications are useful for internal information and updates.
Every company works differently, so the system gives you the flexibility to decide how best to use each feature.
Our Reasoning / Result
Notifications are designed to be quick and easy to access. From the top of the page, users can simply click to open a notification and review the information immediately.
Where needed, selecting View Details can take the user directly to the related account page, making it easy to connect the notification back to the relevant information.
Quick Access to Information
Notifications keep information visible and accessible, helping users stay organised and respond faster without digging through multiple areas of the system.
Delete With Confidence
Deleting a notification only removes it from the notification list. It does not delete the whole account, which helps users keep on top of their lists without worrying about removing important data.
We deliberately did not over-define the split between Tasks and Notifications, because all companies work differently. Instead, we left it open for you to decide what information goes where and who it should be shared with.
What This Helps You Achieve
- Reduce missed opportunities and overlooked updates.
- Make internal information faster to view and manage.
- Link notifications directly back to the relevant account page.
- Keep notification lists tidy without affecting core account data.
- Give teams flexibility in how they use internal communication tools.
Getting the Most From Notifications
View Notifications in Multiple Places
Tasks and Notifications can be seen in four places across the system: the left-hand column, the task accordion on the account page, the top-of-page list icon, and the home page wheel for an overview.
Complete or Clear What You Have Reviewed
Once a notification has been dealt with, update the status or remove it from the list so the remaining items stay focused and relevant.
Use View Details
When a notification relates to a specific account, use the View Details option to jump straight to the relevant account page and continue working from there.
Use the Feature Your Way
Because every organisation works differently, decide internally how your team wants to use Tasks and Notifications so everyone follows a consistent approach.
