Using Target Lists
Learn how Target Lists help you organise accounts into focused working groups, making planning, targeting, and road-based selling much easier.
Thought Process
A CRM can hold a huge amount of information, so the question became: how do we make that information work better for teams on the road?
Target Lists were designed to help bring the right accounts to the front so users can stay focused on what matters most. Rather than searching through large volumes of data each time, lists give users a simpler and more streamlined way to organise accounts into practical groups.
Why they are useful
They make it easier to prioritise, review, and work through selected accounts in a structured way.
How they help teams on the road
They are particularly useful for planning visits, postcode runs, local targeting, and keeping attention on the right accounts for the day.
What Target Lists Help You Do
Build practical working lists
Once accounts are added to a list, they can be reviewed, amended, or removed from that list once they have been visited or actioned.
Remove from the list without deleting the account
Taking an account off a target list does not delete the account from the CRM. It only removes it from that specific working list.
Create lists by area or audience
Lists can be used for postcode targeting, geographical planning, or specific target audiences depending on how your team wants to work.
Adapt as your working style develops
Users often discover their preferred workflow once they begin using the system, so Target Lists were designed to stay flexible and easy to reshape.
Many companies assign postcodes, territories, or areas to sales teams on the road. From a practical sales point of view, this tool makes daily planning much easier by helping users understand where they are going, who they should visit, and which accounts need attention first.
Simple Walkthrough
- Create a new target list based on your current need.
- Add the relevant accounts to that list.
- Use the list as your working view while planning calls, visits, or follow-up.
- Remove accounts from the list once they have been actioned, if needed.
- Keep the list updated so it remains useful and focused.
- Create additional lists for different areas, priorities, or departments.
Getting the Most From Target Lists
Use lists to add focus
Use this function to streamline your personal working database into smaller lists of accounts which are easier to manage and prioritise.
Go beyond sectors
Sector targeting is useful, but Target Lists let you choose individual accounts with greater scrutiny, making them ideal for priority work.
Think in terms of journeys
Build lists around postcodes, routes, or local areas so you can visit the right accounts efficiently while already in that location.
Use them for departments too
Lists do not only have to be for road sales. They can also act as priority views for internal teams or departments who need focused account groups.
Open the full list for quick reference
Clicking into a target list gives you a fuller view of the accounts, including details such as name, telephone number, address, and postcode.
Jump straight back into the account
If you need to open the full account, simply click on the account name from the list and you can return to the main account page for viewing, editing, or updating.
